It has been said that the major media now in the U.S. are basically controlled by major syndicates and are not really free media. Reports such as this one do make you think.
New York Times Eric Konigsberg’s piece, “A Glimpse of Chinese Culture That Some Find Hard to Watch” talks about a very popular Chinese culture show (Chinese New Year Splendor) running in New York that has been getting rave reviews and playing to big audiences. However, if you read it, he wails about it being a Falun Gong propaganda and how “a few hundred” were leaving the show during intermission. If you have ever been to one of NTDTV’s show, like myself, you can testify that they are moving and truly artistic performances.
In the shows I went to, and all they shows my friends, colleagues, acquaintances went to, hardly anybody left, much less “a few hundred.”
I wonder why Konigsberg spend so little time reviewing the acts (in fact, I don’t remember if he did). There seem to be an agenda. Hmmmm….this isn’t the first time.
